At my German class this morning, practising future tenses, where I managed successfully (during a role play) to predict that my class-partner would suffer a broken hip by the age of seventy then, getting carried away, managed to add, 'it will crumble like a damp biscuit'. Quite pleased to be able to say that in German !
Then, Italian class this evening. It's getting very cold these days in Bucks, I had a Toyota Hilux load of logs delivered for the fire and stacked them away in my log store, also negotiated a price to have the trees at the end of my garden trimmed back.
Me, 'how much ?' Log guy, '£650.' Me, 'ok'
I am a very poor haggler.
